*It does exist.
“Fast, cheap, or good. Pick two.”
We’ve all heard that before (usually after getting the bill). But does it really have to be that way? What if the high cost some agencies charge is to feed their own overhead? How much of your website design bill goes to Human Resources? Account execs? Rent at their fancy office? What if you could just hire the designer who did all the actual work?
Here’s a hint: you can.
The skills to pay the bills
HTML4/5, XHTML, CSS 2.1/3, XML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery (AJAX). I’ve got it covered. I strongly prefer working in a LAMP/MAMP environment, but I’m no stranger to IIS/ASP.NET. I’ve got lots of experience with Joomla (including custom component and module development) and WordPress. SEO, analytics, accessibility and UX/UI design are the foundations of every good website, and are at the forefront of every design and coding decision.
If that last paragraph was just a bunch of nonsense to you, here’s the important thing: if your project needs it, I probably know it.
About Me
I’m a California native and I’ve been developing websites for over a decade. I’ve got a lot of hobbies, including audio engineering, riding bikes, and playing music. Most of my free time is taken up by raising my two (soon to be three) kids. I belong to a small group of performing musicians called the Screwtape Collective. In addition to winning Addys for web development I’ve written a few musical jingles used in advertising campaigns, including the award winning “Tachi Sweepstakes” song.
